Times to Travel

Saving money by traveling during the low times for travel is a good way to save a lot of money. Times to avoid traveling are often during school year breaks and other related hot times depending on the destination. For instance, Disneyland is super expensive and busy on the weekends and during any holidays. If however you go on the off times, like after January 4th, the rates go down greatly. Chances are their will also be less waits in line because their are less people traveling then as well.

Cruises seem to be dirt cheap in October from what I have seen for many years. Perhaps because their are more storms, children are still in school, and people are saving for their December and January planned celebrations like Christmas and Hanuka. So if you can possibly plan for a cruis during this time frame, plan to save some money.

Last minute travel can also save money. Companies do not like to have empty hotel rooms or cruise ships so they will have last minute prices. Why pay the full price if you can save a little by traveling at a different time of year?

Great time to travel

As the economy is down it is a great time to find last minute deals on travel. Hotels and resorts that were previously priced out of your price range may now be available. Do your searches and find that perfect getaway.

One of my favorite things to do is to keep track of where I have been and where I want to go. Now with the girls as well, they are added into the mix. I think the best way to do this that I have seen is by having a giant map on the wall. Then color code push pins for each family member. Have a color for the wish list versus where you have been.

The Map can also make a great fun option to, if you are not sure where you want to travel throw a dart or some other similar item at the map and see where it lands. Then do the research for the surrounding areas and explore that new area. Another way of finding a destination is ask your friends where their favorite place is to go and try it, even take your friends as the tour guides and make a group adventure out of it.

Traveling is a great way to get away from the stressors of life. These stayvacations in my estimation are a litttle off. Who wants to stay home when we have such great vast resources that are beckoning us at such discounted rates.

Starting Out

My fist tip is to do a lot of research on your trip and start the research early. Researching your trip can sometimes be as fun, if not funner for some people. Traveling should be an enjoyable activity. In doing research you can not only find good deals on your traveling but you can also find additional activities that you can do while traveling, like visiting a museum, zoo, or national park.

Remember to also look at opportunities along the way. Sometimes if you are willing to stay in a neighboring city you can save lots. Also be realistic with your traveling plans, make sure to give yourself plenty of travel time to get to your destination, if you do not know the area give yourself extra time for getting lost.

Traveling prices fluctuate like the stock market make sure to start checking early on the prices. Also check often. Know the policies to for the traveling place can you cancel? Will they give you a lower price if you find one later? Do they price match? Do kids stay free/eat free? All of these may influence your decision on where to go and where to stay.

Welcome!

This great new blog will feature amazing deals and discounts on traveling. I have been doing this for years and have saved thousands. Scenarios, specific links and more great deals will be featured for your enjoyment and savings. If you are interested in writing for the blog, please let me know I am always looking for good writers. Also please click on the ads as appropriate, because this helps me and my two girls travel. Without this extra income, we would have a hard time affording the travel because of special expenses we have. Just their childcare alone costs over $1500 a month, being a single mom we love to go to the zoo and other fun places. So please help us in doing that and save some money yourself as well.
